Ane Katrine Stougaard-Nexø is an artisan and owner of the one-woman business KATRINE NEXØ JEWELLERY
Since 2013 Katrine Nexø has created and produced sustainable Danish crafts in timeless, aesthetic jewellery designs such as bracelets, necklaces, rings and earrings to be worn by women of all ages.

Not only a beautiful piece of jewellery, but a piece of jewellery which carries circular movements, symbolism, feelings and stories - that promotes a feeling - a curiosity and a desire to examine and study the jewellery.
To me sustainability is about taking care of our planet and next generations.
I believe in circular movements, where production, consumption and recycling of materials are all part of a wholesome cycle, which has a positive effect on humans, animals and environment.
I believe in a more conscious consumption, where we buy less, better and long lasting.”

From one woman to another
The female body is amazing, wonderfully strong and highly fascinating.
With a personal story of many years of fertility treatment Katrines collections are about a woman’s journey where every piece reflects the understated ferocity of the woman and her ability of transformation and renewal – a transformation that occurs in the encounter with the female body.
It is about exploring and playing with the characteristic duality of the elements – between darkness and light, stagnation and ferocity, downfall and rebirth. Embracing the darkness and rising again.
The collections offer moving, passionate shapes and sculptural transformations, communicating themes such as outbreak, grief, pain, detachment, cleansing, renewal and freedom.
All jewellery are handcrafted in recycled sterling silver and plated in 24 carats of gold.

Timeless Danish design
- We want to support the UN Sustainable development goals no. 8: ”to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all” and no. 12: ”to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns” Global Compacts 10 principper.
We work exclusively with suppliers who are FSC certified, which means that no more trees are being cut down than the woods are able to reproduce. Furthermore the animal- and plant life in the woods are being protected and forest workers are educated, having proper safety equipment and a fair pay.
All this ensures that we can reduce our footprint by working with the right and responsible suppliers.
